About BayWood

Welcome to Baywood at Point Clear

Baywood at Point Clear is a thoughtfully planned residential community created for those looking for more space, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed coastal Southern lifestyle. Located near Fairhope and Point Clear, Baywood offers a limited collection of estate-sized homesites averaging approximately three-quarters of an acre, providing homeowners with the space to build distinctive custom homes while still being part of a carefully designed neighborhood.

What makes Baywood special is the setting. Long drives lined with live oaks, large open green spaces, and three ponds with illuminated fountains create a landscape designed to feel established, peaceful, and distinctly Southern. The ponds are positioned throughout the neighborhood as prominent visual features, while select homesites enjoy direct pond frontage and views across the water. As the live oaks mature, their canopies will become an increasingly important part of the character of Baywood and create a memorable sense of arrival throughout the community.

Along the western side of the community, select homesites overlook a neighboring equestrian estate with expansive groomed pastures, horse paddocks, and plans for a practice polo field. These open views help give Baywood a sense of space that is increasingly difficult to find along the Eastern Shore and provide a unique backdrop to the neighborhood’s homes, ponds, and live oak-lined streets.

Baywood is also positioned to offer the privacy and atmosphere of estate-style living without feeling removed from the conveniences of Fairhope and Point Clear. Downtown Fairhope, Mobile Bay, the Fairhope Pier and public beach, Lakewood Golf Club, The Colony, and the Grand Hotel are all within a short drive of the community. It is this combination of space, water, live oaks, equestrian views, and coastal surroundings that defines Baywood at Point Clear—a neighborhood designed to feel special when you arrive and become even more beautiful as it matures.

Features/Amenities

Oak Lined Drive with fog on road

Oak-Lined Drive

The live oak-lined drives will be one of the most recognizable features of Baywood at Point Clear. These trees were intentionally chosen to help give the neighborhood the classic Southern character that is so closely associated with the Fairhope and Point Clear area. As the live oaks grow and mature, their large canopies will begin to frame the roadway, creating a beautiful and memorable drive through the community. Paired with the open pastures, ponds, and big coastal skies, the live oaks will help give Baywood its own unique identity and create a landscape that becomes even more beautiful with time.

Ponds with Fountains

The ponds throughout Baywood at Point Clear are another large feature that will define the look and feel of the Baywood. Three large ponds are thoughtfully placed throughout the community, each featuring illuminated fountains that add movement, sound, and character to the landscape. The ponds are designed to be more than just beautiful views—they create gathering areas where residents can relax by the water, enjoy the fire pits near the main pond, or simply take in the scenery. Several homesites will also have direct pond frontage, giving those homeowners the opportunity to enjoy the water right from their backyard. Together with the live oaks, open pastures, and big coastal skies, the ponds will be a major part of what makes Baywood feel unique and connected to its natural surroundings.

Neighboring Equestrian Estate

Adding to the character of Baywood at Point Clear is the neighboring equestrian estate, which provides a unique backdrop for several homesites within the community. Select homes will enjoy expansive views overlooking a large practice polo field and open paddocks with horses, creating a peaceful setting that feels open, natural, and distinctly Southern. The wide stretches of groomed pasture also help preserve the big, open views that are an important part of Baywood’s overall design. Combined with the live oak-lined drives and ponds throughout the neighborhood, the neighboring equestrian property adds another special feature that helps give Baywood its own sense of place and sets it apart from a typical residential community.

Vision of Baywood

Our Commitment to Excellence

The vision for Baywood at Point Clear began with a simple idea: create a neighborhood that feels like it belongs here. As Fairhope and Baldwin County continue to grow, the developers wanted Baywood to complement the character of the area rather than simply add another high-density residential development. The goal was to create a community with more open space, larger homesites, beautiful natural features, and a sense of permanence that reflects the character of Fairhope and Point Clear.

That vision influenced the layout of the neighborhood from the beginning. Homesites average approximately three-quarters of an acre and were intentionally designed with generous width and depth, giving homeowners the ability to build substantial custom homes without feeling crowded by the homes next door. The additional space also allows for larger yards, pools, courtyards, detached garages, guest retreats, and outdoor living areas while maintaining separation and privacy between neighboring residences. Rather than trying to fit the greatest number of homes onto the property, Baywood was planned around creating space for each home and the surrounding landscape to feel balanced.

The completed community is envisioned as a landscape of live oak-lined drives, open green pastures, illuminated ponds, custom homes, and expansive coastal skies. Along the western side of Baywood, views toward the neighboring equestrian estate, horse paddocks, and future practice polo field further extend that feeling of openness beyond the boundaries of the neighborhood. These features were intentionally incorporated into the overall plan so that the landscape is not simply something surrounding the homes—it becomes an important part of the experience of living at Baywood.

Ultimately, the developers want Baywood to represent a thoughtful approach to growth along the Eastern Shore—one that respects the qualities that have made this area such a desirable place to live in the first place. As Fairhope and Baldwin County continue to grow, Baywood is intended to demonstrate that new development can provide beautiful custom homes and modern infrastructure while still preserving space, views, landscaping, and the Southern coastal character of the surrounding area. The goal is for Baywood to become a neighborhood that matures gracefully over time and serves as an example of the quality and care that should accompany the continued growth of the community.
